58diane58Wonderful Lodges! Fantastic staff My Girlfriends and I have just had the most wonderful weekend in Pearmaine Lodge . Everything you need is there and the lodge was very comfortable. Shower cubicle a bit ‘tired’ and could do with regrouting but just a very minor detail. Without exception the staff were all fabulous- so friendly and helpful. Elizabeth in reception, both Ladies in the Spa, William in the bar, Maddy the lovely waitress in the restaurant, a very helpful restaurant Manager who took our complaint about cocktail glasses very professionally and seriously, lovely Liam our mini bus driver (what a great service to have for getting to and from the restaurant!) and the lovely barman in the golf club bar who found us biscuits to go with our coffees after our mammoth walk! All in all a wonderful time was had by us all and we would definitely return and recommend .AMJJ-1Lovely Lodges but need some TLC and regular checks We have been visiting these Lodges since 2015 and always have a lovely time here. They are fully equipped with everything you need for a short break plus tea, coffee, milk and biscuits have always been provided too. There is a shop at the main hotel if you need a few extra nibbles. I would have given this an excellent rating but whilst the lodge (called Scarlet) was clean on the surface there was a lot of mould in the shower of the main bathroom, the shower blocked up with water every time it was used, so did some of the sinks, and when the DVD player was found to have been unplugged we looked behind the sideboard and it had not been cleaned behind there in years. The toaster also had quite a few months worth of crumbs in it, which I emptied out myself and at least 2 of the blinds in the lounge seemed to be broken. So, although everything looks clean, the regular maintenance and deep clean checks are just not being done. We stayed at this same lodge a few years ago and the shower was mouldy then too and we did point it out. The accommodation is not that cheap so it does deserve a regular bit of TLC and checks to command the prices charged ...and why just get a 'good' rating when you can go the extra mile Apple Tree Lodges and get an 'excellent' rating instead.Patricia BEverything you need. What’s not to like. Hotel.com failed to inform them we were coming. But they were very apologetic and offered us a 2 bed lodge called fortune. Ground floor very spacious, perfect for two couples or a family. Huge bedrooms and comfy living area. Large deck with dining set. Lovely view of nature and countryside. Nice and toasty with underfloor heating on a cold few days. We cooked one night and found all we needed , dishwasher took care of everything after. A nice unexpected, touch, a mini bus took us up to the main hotel two nights so we could eat once in Lakeside restaurant once in the bars casual dining. We then moved on to the sports bar. Mini bus available with no waiting. We don’t play golf but two full size courses and limited access to hotel spa also available. I’d be very happy,to go there again.Barbara MartinGreat stay Absolutely beautiful had two nights here came home today. Beautiful lodge so clean with beautiful views of golf course and wildlife.Everything you could need is in the lodge the only thing missing was cooking utensils such as egg slice and large cooking spoons etc. sports bar and restaurant was great. Will definitely return soon .Mandy TBeautiful lodge in a beautiful location Absolutely loved staying at Apple Tree Lodges. The lodge was huge, well accomodating, and had lots of luxurious touches such as underfloor heating, an Alexa, electric fire, and a coffee machine. The lodge was set enough away from the hotel and resort, but, if you wanted to pop to the bar or restaurant, which we did, they offer a free taxi to and from the lodge which is great! I treated my boyfriend for his Xmas gift to go and it didn't disappoint. The lodge was clean, well equipped and very spacious. The open plan kitchen, dining area and living space had these huge windows and doors that looked over the golf course and it was secluded enough to feel like we was in the countryside, but other lodges and people around if needed. With the lodge being self catering too, it was perfect for us as we was looking to just switch off and escape from normal life. We didn't have to go out if we didn't want too! It had all the bits you needed in the kitchen, plus there was toiletries in the bathroom too. We went for a lovely walk around the resort, saw lots of wildlife and enjoy some fresh air! We also visited the local distillery which was about a 10min walk. There wasn't a path a such to walk along (warning if you visit) but it was worth it! We tried their own gin, vodka and rum they all brew on site, had a tour of the distillery and learnt all about the history too. Overall the lodge was the perfect stay for a few days away. Whether you're looking for a romantic trip, or a friend's trip away, I'd definitely recommend! We didn't get a chance to visit the spa, but I'm hoping to return soon for my friends birthday and have a spa day then!BecHarvAmazing Couldn't fault our trip to Appletree lodges. Accommodation split over 2 floors with separate kitchen and living facilities for both, this made our family stay very enjoyable. Accomodation clean and well equipped. Views across the Golf course stunning, watching the sun rise each morning was a highlight. Staff friendly and accommodating. Food at the resort was excellent with the Sports bar very reasonably priced. Swimming between 8am and 9am for the kids which was great got it out of the way so we could enjoy the rest of the day. We went Alpaca trekking at Hilly Ridge Farm while we stayed and had afternoon tea at the Vintage Tearooms in Lavenham both excellent too. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again. We paid an awful lot less than we would have for a 4 night break at Centre Parcs and found it much better.
